Election Commission issues guidelines for conduct of elections during Covid-19
EC has issued guidelines for the conduct of general elections/by-elections during the COVID-19 pandemic:

All voters to wear face masks. To be removed briefly for identification at the time of voting

Only 2 people can accompany candidate for filing nomination papers

Candidates can also file nomination papers online

If a voter, on the day of voting, shows symptoms then they will be provided with a token and asked to come back at the last hour of polling

Hand gloves to be provided to voters

Only group of 5 persons max, including candidate can campaign door-to-door
-
Candidate convoy for roadshows restricted to 5 vehicles

Max 1,000 voters, instead of 1,500, can vote at a polling station

Quarantined Covid patients will be allowed to vote at the last hour of poll under supervision of health officials, strictly following preventive measures.
COVID-19: Nagaland’s tally touches 3,619 as 36 more test positive
There has been a surge in COVID-19 cases as 36 more persons from Nagaland tested positive on Friday. The new COVID-19 cases have been reported out of 742 samples that were tested.
Among the fresh cases, 17 of them are from Kohima, 10 are from Dimapur, seven from Zunheboto and two from Peren. With the addition of the new cases, the state’s tally touched 3,619 on Friday. READ MORE
Total COVID-19 cases soar to 2,905,824 in India
The total number of coronavirus cases in India reached 2,905,824 on Friday (August 21), as of 8 am, with the death toll standing at 54,849.
According to the latest updates provided by the Union health ministry, there are 692,028 active cases with 54,849 deaths so far in the country. As many as 2,158,946 patients have been cured or discharged and one has migrated.
