Guwahati: Top English Premier League (EPL) club Arsenal FC has shown solidarity to Assam amid the devastating flood by posting a short clip on their official Instagram account on Thursday.
The post displays a message saying, ‘We are with you’, written in both English and Assamese script with the caption, ‘Stay strong, Assam’.
The post has already gained over 124,000 views and 5,000 comments and counting. Gooners (fans of the club) from across the state and Northeast India thanked the club for showing support.
After the post, Actor Adil Hussain took to Twitter to highlight how the issue is not being addressed by celebrities, mainstream media and cricket stars across India on the floods in Assam.
Arsenal FC #ArsenalFC @Arsenal stands with Assamese People. I don’t understand why, then, our Celebrities, Mainstream Media, Cricket Stars are not raising their voices in support of Assamese people! So disappointed with you all.
