Two days after terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi, the police released a sketch on Tuesday of one of the three terrorists involved in the attack. The police also announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to his capture.
The sketch was created based on descriptions provided by eyewitnesses. “Reasi police announce a reward of Rs 20 lakh for any fruitful information about the whereabouts of the terrorist involved in the recent attack on the yatri bus in the area of Pouni,” a police spokesman told news agency PTI.

On Sunday, terrorists targeted a 53-seater bus transporting pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, near Teryath village in the Poni area. The bus, carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi, plunged into a deep gorge following the gunfire. The attack resulted in the deaths of nine people and injuries to 41 others.
As of Tuesday, extensive efforts to track down the terrorists were underway, with 11 teams of security personnel working on the ground and a multi-directional cordon established around the Ranso-Poni-Treyath belt.
