Speed of Gatimaan Express and Vande Bharat reduced for safety

In a bid to enhance passenger convenience and address concerns regarding water wastage, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the provision of 500ml Rail Neer Packaged Drinking Water (PWD) bottles across all Vande Bharat trains. This initiative, in alignment with the broader vision of Indian Railways (IR), aims to minimise the depletion of precious drinking water resources, especially during the ongoing summer season.

Effective immediately, each passenger travelling on Vande Bharat trains will be furnished with a 500ml water bottle. Furthermore, passengers will have the option to request an additional 500ml bottle of water at no extra cost, ensuring accessibility to an adequate water supply throughout their journey.

Recognising that most Vande Bharat travellers embark on short-distance trips, the introduction of 500ml bottles aligns with their needs, offering both convenience and environmental benefits.

The decision to introduce these standardised water bottles reflects a holistic approach by the railways, considering factors beneficial to passengers and the environment alike.

Since its inception in 2019, Vande Bharat trains have garnered praise for their amenities, including scenic views and spacious luggage racks. The addition of 500ml Packaged Drinking Water bottles further enhances the overall journey experience for passengers travelling within Northeast states and across the nation.
