Nagaland: NH-2 stretch to remain temporarily closed on May 3 for truck recovery

Kohima: Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has notified a temporary closure of a section of National Highway-2 on May 3, 2026, to facilitate the recovery of a truck that fell into the Kehorü River.

According to the order, the affected stretch lies between Jakhama and Viswema. The highway will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday.

Authorities stated that the closure is necessary to ensure the safe and smooth recovery of the ill-fated vehicle.

Commuters have been advised to avoid the affected route during the specified hours and instead use the alternative route via Viswema–Kidima–Chakhabama to minimise inconvenience.

The district administration has sought public cooperation during the temporary disruption.
