The Nagaland Tribal Youth Organisation (NTYO) has strongly condemned an alleged extortion attempt by the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) faction, which reportedly issued a demand notice for ₹50 lakh to Aolemba Longkumer, a resident of 7th Mile Chumoukedima and a well-known entrepreneur.
In a press statement released on 26 December 2024, the NTYO expressed deep concern over the incident, labelling the act as a blatant threat and intimidation that undermines the principles of a civilised society. The organisation described the alleged actions of the self-styled group as “shameless” and stated its firm stance against such practices.
The NTYO reiterated its dedication to upholding peace and tranquillity within the community. It emphasised its commitment to combating any form of illegal taxation or extortion that threatens the safety and security of individuals.

The organisation called on law enforcement agencies to take swift action, urging them to apprehend those responsible for the alleged extortion. It also highlighted the importance of ensuring the safety of Aolemba Longkumer, whose right to personal life and liberty, it noted, has been compromised by the threat.
Convenor Vetho Vadeo, Co-Convenor RN David Magh, and Secretary Vitsikolie Kehie signed the statement on behalf of the NTYO. The statement stressed the urgency of addressing the issue and safeguarding the community from similar acts in the future.
