Dimapur: The Nagaland Police has issued a stern warning to its officers and personnel regarding the unauthorized circulation of confidential and operational information.
This follows reports that sensitive data, including details on Mobile Vehicle Check Posts (MVCP) and narcotics cases, have been shared in non-police WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms.
The police department expressed concern that such unauthorised dissemination could alert criminal and anti-social elements, potentially compromising ongoing police operations.
In a press release, the department labeled this action as “serious misconduct” and warned that those responsible could face disciplinary measures and legal action.

Senior officers and unit commanders have been directed to educate their subordinates on the importance of handling professional and official communications with the utmost care.
The department also urged the public to refrain from sharing any confidential information they might receive, whether intentionally or accidentally, on social media platforms.
