Kohima: Amid the controversy surrounding the death penalty threat issued by the NSCN-K (Khango) towards an Angami contractor, the NSCN-K (Khango) has warned the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) to refrain from interfering in its governmental affairs.
Through a statement, the group said that AYO has shown support to the contractor without any substantive understanding or assertion of the facts regarding the relationship between the group and the Contractor.
“The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has shown considerable patience over the past two years in dealing with issues related to K Rülho, who claims to be the proprietor of KKB. Despite this patience, KKB has only contributed 5 Lakh for five projects being undertaken in Nagaland, after which all communication from KKB ceased,” the group claimed.
As per the rebel group, numerous attempts were made to resolve the matter, they said that Rülho not only questioned the integrity of the NSCN-K (Khango) but also provocatively challenged the government to take any necessary action against his non-cooperation.
In response, one National Security Council (NSC) member from the group warned Rülho that such provocations could lead to capital punishment under its Yezhabo (constitution), the governing code of conduct. The group said that the NSC member emphasised that no individual, regardless of their position, has the right to make such “inflammatory statements” against the group.
“The NSCN/GPRN strongly cautions AYO to refrain from interfering in its affairs. The government has already cautioned Rulho against his individual provocations and stands by its statements regarding this matter,” they said.
The Naga political group warned that any individual challenging the integrity of its government or attempting to take the ‘law’ into their own hands against the government, will face appropriate actions as deemed fit under its constitution.
It also questioned on what basis a youth organisation, without a thorough understanding of the issues at hand, is interfering in its governmental affairs.
The NSCN-K (Khango) also challenged the integrity of AYO officials concerning their claims of possessing automatic weapons. They questioned whether these weapons were meant to protect Naga rights or to wage war against the Naga Army, which is fighting for the rights of the Naga people with the Government of India.
The group acknowledged AYO’s recent statement about possessing weapons, considering it a direct challenge and an attempt to escalate tensions. Theey warned that any casualties among AYO members with automatic weapons would be regarded as part of an armed conflict between the NSCN, the government, and AYO, rather than isolated assassination attempts.
The NSCN-K (Khango) clarified its stance and emphasised the importance of adhering to its constitution, and respecting the integrity and functions of the government.
“The National Security Council (NSC) directs that all contractors under the purview of AYO must immediately cease and demobilise their manpower and machinery currently deployed across other districts in Nagaland,” the NSCN-K (Khango) said.

They warned that this directive will remain in force till a resolution is reached in the ongoing dispute between m/s KKB Pvt Ltd Construction Company and the NSCN-K (Khango) Government.
“These actions are in response to the declaration of non-cooperation by AYO in the media, and the NSCN urges all relevant parties to adhere to these instructions to avoid further conflict and ensure the safety and order in the region,” the group added.
