Kohima: Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, has issued a notification following the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) at a location in Kohima district of Nagaland.
The notification outlines specific areas designated as Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones to control and contain the outbreak.
The identified Infected Zone is R&K Piggery Farm Nyiepfü, located below IG Stadium, extending to a 1 km radius from the Infected Premises.

As per the notice, the Surveillance Zone covers an additional 9 km outside the Infected Zone, making it a total of a 10 km radius from the source of infection.
To prevent the spread of ASF, several bans have been imposed including ban on slaughter of pigs, ban on import and export of pigs and piglets, and ban on transportation of pigs and pork.
