Kohima: Nagaland’s Directorate of School Education has issued a stern warning to government schools found charging fees exceeding the prescribed limits.

This directive comes after reports surfaced indicating certain institutions were collecting amounts beyond what was officially notified.

The directorate reiterated government notifications which established a clear fee structure aimed at ensuring affordability and equity in education.

The Department pointed out two key notes from the Revised Fee Structure for Government Schools issued on June 17, 2022. One point was that schools providing uniforms, T shirts, Necktie, Belt, and so on, must get the rates approved by the respective School Management and Development Committees (SMDCs).

The other note highlighted that the NBSE fee shall be modified in accordance with the notifications being issued by the Board from time to time.

It warned all concerned schools to strictly adhere to the fee structure notified by the Department.
