Kohima: A major fire erupted at Kitsubozou in Kohima, Nagaland, on Tuesday, resulting in the displacement of 14 families and the tragic loss of a dog. No human casualties were reported.
Speaking to EastMojo, Sedevizo Hibo, Officer-in-charge of the Fire station (South), revealed that the fire is suspected to have originated from a leakage in an LPG cylinder.
The situation escalated rapidly as more cylinders caught fire, intensifying the inferno.
Hibo stated that the fire station received an urgent call at approximately 11:50 AM, prompting firefighters to swiftly respond to the scene.
The blaze not only left 14 families homeless but also led to the destruction of six vehicles parked nearby.
To combat the flames, four fire tenders from the south fire station and three from the north station were deployed. It took a total of 14 trips to completely extinguish the fire.

Hibo also informed that Assam Rifles and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) also assisted in containing the fire.
