Kohima: The Nagaland State government has taken the decision to close down four government schools, comprising three primary schools and one middle school, due to zero enrolment.
In an official notification issued by Kevilenuo Angami, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, it was announced that the closure of these four schools would be effective immediately.
The notification highlighted that the decision was made following the deliberation of the State Level Education Committee (SLEC) during its meeting on December 15, 2023.

The closure of these schools is deemed necessary in the interest of public service.
Among the schools ordered to be shut down, two are primary schools and one is a middle school located in Zunheboto, while another primary school is situated in Tseminyu and Mokokchung respectively.
