Aizawl: Three people, including two Indian Information Service (IIS) officers, were killed and another seriously injured after a Bolero vehicle veered off the road and plunged down a steep slope near Sateek in Mizoram on Wednesday afternoon.

Four people, including the driver, were travelling in the vehicle when the accident occurred around 2 km from Sateek village along the Aizawl-Sateek road.

The deceased have been identified as Dr Engam Pame, IIS, Additional Director General at the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) Regional Office, Imphal; Nampi Bou Marinmai, IIS, Director (News), Doordarshan Aizawl; and H Lianvela, a Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) member with the CBC Aizawl office and a resident of Chawlhhmun.

The driver, Gojendro Dey, who works with the CBC Aizawl office, sustained serious injuries and was taken for treatment.
