Officials of the Mizoram excise and narcotics department and personnel of Border Security Force (BSF) have seized over 808 grams of heroin and arrested an individual during a joint operation in Kolasib district on Friday, the excise department said in a statement on Saturday.
The joint operation was carried out at North Chhimluang village along the National Highway-306 on specific information, the statement said.
A drug peddler identified as Ramneihthanga (47), a resident of Vairengte village in Kolasib district has been arrested for possessing the contraband worth Rs. 22.75 lakh, it said.
He was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, the statement added.
