Imphal: Manipur’s Wushu player Naorem Roshibina Devi has assured herself of a medal at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya after defeating Chu Man Sin of Macao, China, 5-0 in the women’s 60 kg Sanda quarter-final.
The victory takes Roshibina into the semi-final, where she will continue her campaign for a place in the gold-medal bout.
The result also marks Roshibina’s third Asian Games medal, following her bronze at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and silver at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
With the latest achievement, Roshibina becomes the first Indian Wushu player to win medals at three editions of the Asian Games.

An Arjuna Award recipient, Roshibina has also won gold medals at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships, the 2019 South Asian Games and the 2023 Moscow Wushu Stars.
She was named the International Wushu Federation’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2023.
Roshibina is currently serving as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Manipur.
