Imphal: Troops of the Indian Army neutralised a suspected explosive device during a routine patrol in Manipur’s Churachandpur district on April 30, officials said.
The device was detected in the vicinity of Moulsang village, posing a potential threat to civilian lives in the area.
According to officials, acting on inputs, engineers from the Red Shield Division swiftly mobilised a Bomb Disposal Team to the location. The area was immediately cordoned off and necessary safety precautions were put in place.
The presence of explosives was confirmed with the assistance of an Explosive Detector Dog, enabling an accurate assessment of the threat.

The Bomb Disposal Team subsequently carried out an in-situ destruction of the suspected unexploded ordnance, believed to be of old vintage, in a controlled manner. The operation was completed without any collateral damage.
Officials said the successful operation reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and maintaining peace and security in the region.
