Imphal: Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding 3 Corps, made a historic visit at the Rajya Sainik Board (RSB), Manipur on Tuesday. This is the first-ever visit by a Corps Commander at the Rajya Sainik Board, Manipur.
During the visit, Col Gopendra Singh Puyam (Retd), Secretary of the Rajya Sainik Board, briefed the GOC on its responsibilities, including welfare and resettlement of ex-servicemen, war widows, and families of defence personnel, as well as pension-related benefits and recognition of gallantry award winners from the state. He also highlighted challenges in implementing welfare measures and resettlement schemes.
The GOC stressed the importance of sustained efforts to address these challenges and assured continued support for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families in Manipur.
His visit reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to the veteran community of the state.
