In a significant security operation, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Manipur Police, apprehended an armed individual in the Bishnupur district of Manipur on Monday. The joint operation was initiated following intelligence reports of suspicious activities involving armed miscreants between Kwakta and Sangthong.
A Joint Vehicle Checkpost (VCP) was set up on the Kwakta-Sangthong road on 27 May 2024. During the operation, soldiers stationed at the checkpost intercepted a passenger car and apprehended an individual. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities recovered one M-16 rifle, one pistol, and a quantity of ammunition.
