Imphal: Tragedy struck along the Imphal-Moreh highway on Friday morning as one Manipur police constable lost his life, while an assistant sub-inspector sustained injuries in a road accident near Sinam village under Tengnoupal Police station.
The incident occurred around 6 am. Additional SP of Moreh, Md Riaz, who was also in the vehicle during the mishap escaped unhurt.

The deceased constable has been identified as Md Abdul Latif, 35, hailing from Sangaiyumfam part 2, Cherapur Mathak Leikai, Thoubal district.
The injured ASI, Md Yunush Khan, is from Urup Arapti area.
At the time of reporting, the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
