Imphal: In the last 24 hours, at least 259 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur, the highest single-day spike in the state since the second wave.
The cumulative number of positive cases for coronavirus now stands at 31,001.
These new positive cases include 95 from Imphal West, 77 from Imphal East, 28 from Churachandpur, 20 from Bishnupur, 11 from Thoubal, eight from Ukhrul, seven from Kakching, six from Senapati, three from Kangpokpi, two from Chandel and one each from Jiribam and Tengnoupal districts, respectively.
A total of 37 air passengers who underwent COVID-19 testing at Imphal Airport were tested negative, as per the latest health bulletin. Meanwhile, two persons from Imphal West and Imphal East districts succumbed to the virus on Wednesday. Now, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the state is 395.
