Unidentified assailants opened fire at an Indian Army camp in Kakopathar, Assam, around midnight on Friday. The attackers reportedly fired from a moving vehicle, targeting the Kakopathar Company location.
Army personnel on duty retaliated immediately while taking precautions to prevent harm to nearby civilian areas. The exchange of fire lasted briefly, after which the attackers fled the scene. According to defence officials, three soldiers suffered minor abrasions, but no major injuries were reported.

The Army said the area has been sanitised, and joint search operations with the police are underway to trace those involved.
Officials described the firing as a speculative attack and confirmed that additional security measures have been put in place in the region.
