Guwahati: In a major breakthrough, a police team from Guwahati, Assam has managed to apprehend several car thieves who were allegedly involved in a series of grand theft auto incidents that have plagued the state in recent times.
According to reliable sources, two key accused individuals, identified as Ajijul Ali and Jamirudin Ali, were initially apprehended in connection with the theft of a Mahindra Bolero Pickup truck. The stolen vehicle had been equipped with a GPS tracker, which played a pivotal role in assisting the police in their investigation.
The owner of the pickup truck, upon discovering that his vehicle had been stolen, promptly alerted the authorities. By utilising the GPS data, he was able to ascertain that the truck had passed through a toll gate in Meghalaya, indicating its direction towards Nongpoh. Acting swiftly on this information, the owner immediately reached out to the police, leading to the interception of the stolen vehicle a short distance away from Nongpoh.
Following the successful recovery of the stolen truck, the police proceeded to interrogate the two apprehended individuals, which led to the identification and subsequent arrest of several more associates involved in the criminal enterprise.
