Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, the General Manager of Northeast Frontier (N.F.) Railway, conducted an inspection of the Railway Workshop at New Bongaigaon today, 7th August 2024. He also reviewed the development works and railway facilities in the New Bongaigaon area. Neeraj Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager of Rangiya, along with senior officials from the headquarters and division, accompanied the General Manager during the inspection.

At the New Bongaigaon Workshop, Shrivastava inspected various facilities including the carriage repair shop, wagon repair shop, LHB component repair shop, LHB Bogie shop, Bearing shop, and the Train Lighting & Air Conditioning shop. He reviewed the ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving the maintenance of rolling stock and discussed yard remodelling with officials to enhance the marshalling of rolling stock. Following this, the General Manager inspected the Supervisor’s Training Centre adjacent to the workshop, examining the training modules provided to trainees who play a crucial role in safe train operations. He also checked the facilities available to Loco Pilots and Assistant Loco Pilots at the crew lobby at New Bongaigaon station.

Later, Shrivastava held a review meeting with workshop officials to discuss various developmental aspects aimed at making the workshop future-ready in line with the rapid modernisation of Indian Railways. The visit was focused on assessing the progress of various development works, evaluating facilities at different locations, interacting with officials, and discussing plans for infrastructural development. His positive assessment of the ongoing works reflects the dedication and efforts of Northeast Frontier Railway towards providing safe, efficient, and comfortable travel experiences for passengers.
