Imphal: Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, Losii Dikho, has clarified that he decided to abstain from attending the Cabinet Meeting held at the Civil Secretariat on Thursday, in accordance with the collective wishes and understanding of the Naga Legislators’ Forum.
Losii Dikho’s decision follows the participation of fellow Deputy Chief Minister, Nemcha Kipgen in the meeting.
In view of the prevailing circumstances and respecting the sentiments and collective position expressed by the Naga Legislators’ Forum and for the sake of the Naga people, Losii Dikho considered it appropriate to refrain from participating when the people involved in creating unrest are part of the Cabinet proceedings.
He maintained that the decision has been taken after careful consideration and in deference to the collective understanding and sentiments of the Naga Legislators’ Forum.
“As justice is still denied and the Naga people continue to bear the brunt of the violence from the Kuki Militants led by self-styled ‘Tiger’ Kipgen, (Husband of Nemcha Kipgen) who is the mastermind to have perpetrated the killing and mutilation of the six innocent Naga citizens whose bodies are still lying unclaimed in the morgue”, he stated.
“It is very painful to see that, the very person who has sworn and taken the oath of office and secrecy, to protect the Constitution, the rule of law and the security of innocent citizens has breached all this by sharing all state secrets and colluding with her husband (Thangboi Kipgen) who is the head of the Militant group KNF (P)”, he added.
He stated that he is deeply disturbed by the lack of action and silence by the authority who have appointed her. He is appalled to see Nemcha and her husband continue to tear the state apart instead of bridging the gap and bringing back peace and normalcy to the state of Manipur.
Deputy Chief Minister, Losii Dikho asserted that his abstention should not be interpreted as a lack of commitment towards the responsibilities entrusted to him or towards the welfare and development of the people of Manipur.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people with sincerity and dedication and to working towards peace, unity, understanding and harmonious coexistence among all communities in the State.
