Guwahati: A local athlete Pallab Jyoti Mohan has brought pride to his entire state of Assam by clinching a bronze medal in the prestigious Para National Ranking Table Tennis Tournament held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Pallab Jyoti Mohan has etched his name in the history books of Assam as the first player from the state to accomplish such a feat. Currently pursuing his master’s degree in mathematics from Dibrugarh University, Pallab has shown exceptional prowess and determination in the field of para table tennis.
Speaking about Pallab’s remarkable achievement, his coach Hrishikesh Gogoi expressed immense pride and shared, “We are proud of him because he became the first player from Assam to clinch the bronze medal in the Para National Ranking Table Tennis Tournament which was recently held in Madhya Pradesh. I have been coaching him for the last four years.”
Gogoi further highlighted Pallab’s exceptional skills, emphasizing his technique and movements on the table. Recognizing his talent, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has selected Pallab for coaching in Gujarat, where he will undergo training to prepare for upcoming major tournaments in the coming months.
Expressing gratitude towards everyone who contributed to Pallab’s journey, Gogoi extended special thanks to the Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) for their unwavering support. The ATTA, in turn, congratulated Pallab wholeheartedly for his remarkable achievement.
