Guwahati: Preparations are underway for a grand welcome of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh on March 09.
The city administration, in coordination with security forces, has embarked on comprehensive overnight maintenance drives give finishing touch to the preparations.
In a bid to present Itanagar at its best, streets and highways have undergone extensive cleaning and maintenance activities overnight.
The administration has been overseeing the process, ensuring that the cityscape exudes cleanliness and orderliness ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival.
On the other hand, security measures have been significantly intensified across Arunachal Pradesh and forces are put on high alert.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) chaired a crucial meeting with top security officials to review security arrangements ahead of the visit.
In light of the expected gathering of visitors, Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation, Tamme Phassang, has extended a warm invitation to citizens of the capital complex and nearby towns to witness the Prime Minister’s address on March 9.
Additionally, traffic advisories have been issued by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to streamline traffic management during the visit. Measures include designated parking zones for delegates arriving from neighboring districts, emphasizing the utilization of public transportation, and highlighting restricted parking areas to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
Moreover, stringent directives have been issued regarding the entry and exit routes for VVIP and VIP vehicles, along with guidelines for attendees and drivers to adhere to during the event.
