Facebook has issued its first-ever analysis on the top-performing and most viewed material or posts on people’s news feeds in the United States, after being accused of promoting right-wing propaganda.
However, a ‘personality test’ from Gaur Gopal Das, who defines himself as a personal coach, monk, author, and motivational speaker, is at the top of Facebook’s most popular posts list.
According to Facebook, the word search puzzle captioned “The first three words you see are your reality” was seen by 80.6 million people.
With 61.4 million views, musician Ace Gutta‘s Facebook post came in second.
Questions like “What is something you will never eat, no matter how hungry you feel” and “Does sugar go in spaghetti” were fourth and fifth on the list, respectively.
The study looked at data from April 1, 2021, to June 30, 2021, in the United States. The majority of the most-viewed postings on Facebook featured either a photo or a video, according to Facebook.
Facebook’s objective, according to the study, is to give clarity about what users see in their Facebook News Feed, the different types of content that show in their Feed, and the most-viewed sites, links, pages, and posts on the platform throughout the quarter.
Instead of measuring involvement, the report focuses on how many people view a post. “Because there’s so much content on Facebook, the items seen by the most people – as described in this report – still comprise only a small portion of the total number of content views,” Facebook explained.
According to Facebook, news domains accounted for only 0.3 per cent of the material in Facebook’s news feed.
YouTube, Amazon, and UNICEF were the top three most-visited sites via links, according to the report.
Meanwhile, the most popular link on Facebook in the previous three months linked to an obscure website for the Green Bay Packers, an American football team, with 87.2 million content users.
