Lalrinfela’s story of resilience and innovation has caught the attention of Impulse Empower, a project by Impulse Social Enterprises dedicated to showcasing the success stories of small- to medium-sized businesses across Northeast India and North Bengal. In collaboration with Meta, Impulse Empower captured the inspiring journey of Tribeland Coffee as part of their “Impulse Model Entrepreneur Stories.” The project is aimed at highlighting how local entrepreneurs like Lalrinfela are contributing to the economic development of their regions, creating jobs, and fostering a culture of self-reliance that is vital for preventing unsafe migration and exploitation.

The documentary, directed by Lewis Levent Özcan, a filmmaker and Entrepreneur in Residence at the Impulse Empower Incubation Hub, delves into the challenges and triumphs of entrepreneurs like Lalrinfela. Through his lens, Özcan tells the story of how Tribeland Coffee is not just a business, but a movement to cultivate an appreciation for coffee in Aizawl. The film, produced by Gezmek Films under the guidance of producer Hasina Kharbhih, brings to light the passion and dedication that drive these entrepreneurs.

Impulse Empower’s initiative, supported by Meta India, is part of a broader effort to bring attention to the stories of entrepreneurs who are often overlooked. Through this partnership, they aim to inspire others to follow in the footsteps of entrepreneurs like Lalrinfela, who are using their businesses to make a positive impact on their communities.

In addition to running Tribeland Coffee, Lalrinfela also serves as a project manager for a circular foundation, further demonstrating his commitment to sustainable development and community upliftment. His dual role as a business leader and social advocate makes him a key figure in the economic and cultural landscape of Mizoram.

The documentary also highlights the role of local partners like Cod Nerc NGO, who support these entrepreneurial ventures by providing resources and guidance. The media partner for the project, Impulse Model Press Lab, along with <eastmojo.com>, plays a crucial role in ensuring these stories reach a wider audience, amplifying the voices of entrepreneurs who are making a difference.

As Tribeland Coffee continues to grow, it not only brings the rich flavours of Mizoram’s coffee to the forefront but also strengthens the local economy and fosters a culture of coffee appreciation that is here to stay.
