Sikkim-based rock band Girish and The Chronicles are set to tour Australia and New Zealand for the first time this month, marking their debut run in the region and another step in the band’s growing international presence.
Emerging from Northeast India, the group has gained visibility on global stages over the past few years through international performances, festival appearances and collaborations. Their tour of Australia and New Zealand will make them the first English-language rock band from the Northeast to perform across the two countries.
The band drew international attention after appearing on a major global talent platform and has since shared stages with acts including Guns N’ Roses. Over the years, Girish and The Chronicles have performed in several countries across Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, steadily expanding their international audience.
Dear Reader,
Every day, our team at EastMojo travels through rain, rough roads, and remote hills to bring you stories that matter – stories from your town, your people, your Northeast.
We do this because we believe in truthful, independent journalism. No big corporate backing, no government pressure – just honest reporting by local journalists who live and breathe the same air you do.
But to keep doing this work, we need you. Your small contribution helps us pay our reporters fairly, reach places others ignore, and keep asking the tough questions.
If you believe the Northeast deserves its own fearless voice, stand with us.
Support independent journalism. Be a Member.
Thank you,
