Gangtok: A jawan of the 1st India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) of Sikkim Police was found dead in Delhi on Thursday morning. According to reports, he is suspected to have died by suicide.

He was 29 years old.

The jawan, who joined the services in 2012, hailed from Singtam in East Sikkim. He is survived by his wife and a child.

The jawan had reportedly taken to social media a few hours before he took the extreme step. He was said to have posted a message with a montage of pictures saying ‘Good Bye Everyone’.

A senior IRBn official from New Delhi said that the matter is under investigation.
