The Task Force for the Development of Tourism in the North East held its fourth meeting in New Delhi on April 25, with the participation of officials from all the North Eastern states. The meeting was convened to discuss the implementation of an action plan for the comprehensive and sustainable development of tourism in the region.
The task force, constituted by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) in September 2022, is working in collaboration with various stakeholders, including the private sector, to develop a comprehensive strategy and action plan for the development of tourism in North East.
The meeting discussed the strategies and the action plan for the development of tourism in the North East. The task force also reviewed the progress of the tourism sector in the region and the challenges faced in the development of tourism infrastructure, services, and capacity. The task force also explored the potential opportunities for investment in the tourism sector in the North East and the ways to facilitate investment.
