Imphal: Nine days after the tragic Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad, the identity of another cabin crew member from Manipur has been confirmed through DNA testing, officials said on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailakpam, 20, a resident of Thoubal district. Her remains are expected to arrive in Manipur on Sunday.
Officials at Imphal International Airport have stated that all necessary preparations are being made to receive her with full dignity and honour.
Kongbrailakpam was one of the 12 cabin crew members who lost their lives when the ill-fated flight crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport on June 12.
Earlier this week, the body of another flight attendant from Manipur, Lamnunthem Singson of Kangpokpi district, was laid to rest with full honours.
Her mortal remains were flown from Ahmedabad to Dimapur and received by family members before her final rites were performed on Friday.
