Around 300 builders selected from more than 4,970 applications will gather at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati on October 24 and 25 for Hackyard Build 2026, a 24-hour, in-person hackathon focused on developing artificial intelligence (AI) products.
Organised by Assam-based technology company Hackyard Technologies Private Limited, the event will bring participants together for a continuous build session, with teams expected to turn their ideas into working products within 24 hours.
Participants will compete for a cash prize pool of up to Rs 4,47,500, with additional partner challenges. Organisers said accommodation for two nights on campus, meals throughout the weekend and a builder kit will be provided to all in-person participants.
Three Y Combinator F26 companies, ByteAsk, Agent37 and Nodus Compute, are sponsoring the event. Founder judges from Y Combinator-backed startups will assess the in-person round live from San Francisco.
“Build 2026 is where builders stop talking and start making. 300 builders, 24 hours, one venue,” said Shyamol Konwar, co-founder and CEO of Hackyard.
EastMojo has joined the event as its official media partner. The publication will cover the hackathon on the ground, interview winners and founder judges, and report the results following the event.
Hackyard describes Build 2026 as its flagship hackathon and part of its effort to build a global network of builders. The event will take place at IIT Guwahati on October 24 and 25.
