Dimapur: The Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland (ZYON) has issued a fervent appeal to all members of the Zeliangrong community, irrespective of age, gender, or background, to join a rally organised by the Zeliangrong Students Union Nagaland (ZSUN) and Zeliangrong Mipui Organization (ZMO) to protest against the alleged rape of a minor by her biological father

The rally is scheduled to take place on Thursday, at the Local Ground in Samziuram Village, commencing at 10:00 AM.

These organisations have recently condemned in the strongest terms the distressing revelation of an alleged rape case involving a minor girl and her own biological father in Samziuram village, Peren district of Nagaland.

In a statement released on Wednesday, ZYON emphasised the gravity of the crime and called for collective voice and action from the community. “It is a crime that demands our collective voice and action. By standing up against it, we not only support the victims but also send a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated in our society in the near future,” the statement read.

The organization stressed the importance of community solidarity in advocating for justice, raising awareness, and preventing such atrocities from occurring again.

“We will come together to demand accountability from authorities, raise awareness about the importance of consent and respect, and support the victims in their journey towards healing and justice’, it stated.
