During this meeting, ENLU members provided the Cabinet with updates on their recent visit to Delhi and their meeting with the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) on March 28th, 2024, in Tuensang.

The focus of discussions revolved around participation in the forthcoming national elections and ensuring comprehensive representation within the political process.

After thorough deliberations, the Cabinet and ENLU Members unanimously decided to extend a sincere appeal to the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO), urging them not to abstain from the upcoming Lok Sabha Election scheduled for April 19th, 2024. Instead, they encouraged active participation in the elections, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling our democratic responsibilities for the greater benefit of the region and its constituents.

Furthermore, the House acknowledged that with the installation of a new popular government in the Centre, a conducive atmosphere would be created for further negotiation of ENPO’s demands.

In light of these developments, the Cabinet and ENLU Members earnestly appeal to the ENPO and its constituents to prioritize democratic principles and ensure the widest possible participation in the upcoming national elections. Such participation is deemed essential to pave the way for a brighter and more inclusive future for Eastern Nagaland.
