Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has been recognized for its outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices, receiving the esteemed “Commendation for Significant Achievement” at the 18th CII-ITC Sustainability Awards. This recognition stands as a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to social progress and its robust framework for CSR governance and implementation.

The evaluation of TKM’s CSR activities was conducted by CII-ITC assessors based on defined parameters, including Learning & Innovation across all its CSR projects. The company’s social initiatives demonstrated strong alignment with these parameters, showcasing their commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

As part of its CSR implementation process, TKM conducts periodic internal assessments overseen by a board-level CSR committee. This comprehensive monitoring system ensures objectivity, credibility, and compliance, enabling the company to measure and evaluate the impacts of its initiatives effectively.

TKM’s CSR strategy is centered around two key pillars: “Empowering Communities” and “Enriching Environment.” Guided by the principle of Kaizen (continuous improvement), TKM’s CSR projects are organized into six key pillars: Skill Development, Road Safety, Education, Environment, Health & Hygiene, and Disaster Management.

The company’s sustainable CSR model emphasizes community ownership, unified interventions, behavior change, and stakeholder engagement. This approach aims to foster a resilient and sustainable society, aligning with Toyota’s global vision.

Mr. Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Governance at TKM, expressed his gratitude for the award and emphasized the company’s belief in the strong connection between business growth and societal progress. He highlighted TKM’s focus on catalysing positive behavioral changes, especially through its child-to-community approach.
