The anti-narcotic squad of Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department seized 284 grams of heroin and arrested two women for possessing the contraband at Durtlang Leitan locality in Aizawl on Tuesday, an official said on Wednesday.
Excise and narcotics department spokesperson Peter Zohmingthanga said that the contraband worth Rs. 7.70 lakh was smuggled from Myanmar.
The two accused Lalthanmawii (45), a resident of Zokhawthar village in Champhai district on the Mizoram-Myanmar border and Vanlalhriati (29) of Darlawn Venghlun in Aizawl district were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, he said.
