France President Emmanuel Macron has become the latest international leader to test positive COVID-19.
Macron took a PCR test after symptoms appeared, and will now isolate for seven days, the Elysée Palace said in a statement. He will work remotely for the time being.
Earlier this week, France imposed an overnight curfew after an increase in cases.
The country has had two million confirmed cases since the epidemic, with more than 59,400 deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
It is not yet known how Macron caught the virus, but his office said it was identifying those he had been in close contact with to inform them of the situation.
