Guwahati: Floods continue to wreak havoc in the states of Assam and Bihar. Over 55 lakh people have been affected by the floods in both the states killing many in the process. Losses also occur in the form of property, soil erosion, and animals. The states need help, now more than ever and celebrity chef Vikas Khanna is doing just that.
In a recent tweet the chef, acknowledging the fact that there are a lot of challenges to support the flooded areas, pledged two million-plus meals in various affected areas. He wrote: “There are a lot of challenges to support relief in flooded areas of Bihar & Assam (especially the remote ones)
But I pledge 2 million+ meals in the affected areas.
We will do best to our ability.

Khanna is conducting a major flood relief effort in the flood-affected regions of Assam and Bihar. He will be covering 100 villages in both the states and feeding the needy who now have no shelter under the initiative.
Apart from providing food to the affected, he has also revealed that the team will conduct a major food drive FoodPrint. This is to provide benefits to poor street vendors who are struggling to make their ends meet due to COVID-19 and its subsequent lockdown.

Before this, the chef was also instrumental in providing food to the underprivileged during the initial COVID-19 lockdown. If reports are to be believed, the chef has fed over seven million helpless souls across India.
