Kohima: Akho from Chakhesang community won the Naga King Chilli Eating Competition, organized by XL Nagaland and sponsored by the State department of horticulture, here on Friday.

Akho secured the first position by consuming six chillies. The prize was bagged Seintong from Peren, who consumed four and half chillies.

Aku Khamo of Kohima and Seiminlal from Peren took four Raja chillies each. The fifth position was taken by Keneiselhou Viyie for taking three chillies.

Altogether eight participants took part in the event for local category and four, including a woman, took part in the foreign category of the competition.

The winner from the tourist category was Tapan from Guwahati who took six chillies.

The winners from the local category received Rs 20,000 for first position; Rs 15,000 for second; Rs 10,000 for third and Rs 5,000 for securing fourth and fifth place.
