Since 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity has grown exponentially – and so has the formidable organisational machine of his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday dedicated several development projects in West Bengal including a rail pipeline and an LPG bottling plant. While the country is busy celebrating its 21st-century growth, these projects will strengthen the infrastructure of the country, he said.

PM Modi said that the country’s growth is being driven by many factors including railways, ports, oil pipelines, LPG supply and wastewater treatment. He said that the government is committed to the development and modernisation of railways in West Bengal at the same pace as the rest of the country.

“India showed the world how development can be done in harmony with the environment,” said PM Modi while unveiling the Haldia- Barauni Crude Oil Pipeline. He said that the pipeline, which is built to carry crude oil to three refineries in West Bengal, will benefit the environment as well as provide employment opportunities.

PM Modi said that the government is also committed to providing clean drinking water to the people of West Bengal. The projects dedicated today are also aimed at improving the environment, he added.
