Guwahati: The Central Government has clarified that there has been no revision in LPG refill booking timelines, dismissing recent media reports and social media posts claiming otherwise.
According to the clarification, some reports had suggested new waiting periods—45 days for PMUY connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single bottle connections, and 35 days for non-PMUY double bottle connections. Officials have termed these claims as misinformation.
The existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged, the Government stated as per a release by PIB.
As per current norms, LPG refills can be booked after 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, irrespective of the type of connection.
The Government has urged citizens not to believe or circulate unverified information and cautioned against panic booking of LPG cylinders. It also reassured the public that there is adequate LPG stock available across the country and that there is no cause for concern.
