The Kamakhya and New Tinsukia railway stations, under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), have been recognised with the prestigious ‘Eat Right Station’ certifications by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This achievement highlights the stations’ commitment to providing high-quality, nutritious, and hygienic food to passengers, following FSSAI’s rigorous guidelines. Kamakhya and New Tinsukia now join the list of certified stations within NFR, becoming the ninth and tenth stations to earn this status.
The certifications, valid from 12th September 2024 to 11th September 2026, further underline NFR’s dedication to enhancing passenger services. NFR is also working on ensuring that additional stations meet the required standards to achieve ‘Eat Right Station’ status, with plans in place to improve food safety and hygiene across its network.
Previously, stations such as Guwahati, Harishchandrapur, Lumding, Rangiya, Mariani, Samsi, New Bongaigaon, and New Jalpaiguri were awarded similar certifications, reflecting a growing effort across NFR to promote safe and wholesome food services at its facilities.
