GM of N. F. Railway prioritises train safety in staff interaction

Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, the General Manager of N. F. Railway, engaged with frontline safety staff and officials at the N. F. Railway Headquarters in Maligaon on 27 June 2024. Principal Heads of all N. F. Railway departments were in attendance, while Divisional Railway Managers from the five divisions of N. F. Railway joined via video conferencing.

The meeting aimed to ensure safer train operations and provide a reliable travel experience for passengers. Various safety measures and issues related to train operations were discussed, with an emphasis on the necessary actions to maintain safety. The General Manager urged all attendees to prioritise the creation of a safer railway system.

Shrivastava highlighted the importance of safety, describing it as one of the most sensitive and priority issues. He advised the divisions to focus on better coordination with frontline staff, motivate them effectively, provide proper counselling, and offer relevant training. He also stressed the importance of attending to the mental and physical health of the staff.

In his concluding remarks, the General Manager called for improved coordination among the various departments. He directed adherence to all safety norms and prioritisation of safety in train operations. He emphasised that issues concerning the safe movement of trains and passenger amenities should be promptly addressed and resolved.
