Kohima: A newly constructed village road and footpath under the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) was inaugurated at Gwachonlo village (Batch-IV under Tseminyu) by Sevono Seletsu, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kohima & DMU Head on Saturday.
The project was implemented under the component of Entry Point Activity (EPA)
Addressing the community, Seletsu described the inauguration as a milestone for the village and urged residents to maintain the facility with utmost care for the benefit of all.
She lauded the collaborative efforts of the Village Council and the Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC), noting that the achievement reflects the unity of the community. The forest officer also highlighted the objectives of NFMP and encouraged villagers to take ownership of project activities to ensure their success.
Village Council member Thepfuruja Khing and Loshubu Khing (GB) expressed gratitude to the project for fulfilling a long-standing requirement of the village.
The programme was chaired by Yhuntilo Kent, Range Forest Officer & Field Management Unit Head, Tseminyu, while Ahyun S Kath, Gwachonlo JFMC Chairman, proposed the vote of thanks. Earlier, a dedicatory prayer was offered by Ahyun S Kath, Pastor TBC.
The event was attended by community members, including representatives from the Village Council, JFMC, and NFMP officials.
