Kohima: In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in a joint operation with Batala Police, central agencies, and Nagaland Police, has arrested two key accused wanted in a murder case from Kohima, Nagaland.
According to the Director General of Police, Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, the accused have been identified as Harmanpreet Singh alias Harman and his cousin Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, both residents of Batala, Punjab.
Taking to X, the officer informed that the acussed were wanted in connection with the murder of Jugraj Singh alias Jugga at Village Cheema Khudi, Batala, on September 9, 2025.
The duo were taken to Punjab after the competent court in Nagaland granted transit remand.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the killing was carried out on the directions of foreign-based gangsters Jaswinder Singh alias Manu Agwan, Mohammad Yasin Akhtar alias Jeeshan Akhtar, and Gopi Nawanseharia.
The Punjab Police reiterated that it remains committed to dismantling organised crime networks and ensuring peace and harmony across the state.
