Kohima: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, along with his cabinet colleagues and senior state officials, met Takashi Ariyoshi, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), and Mayumi Tsubakimoto, First Secretary at the Japanese Embassy, on Tuesday at Nagaland House, New Delhi.
During the meeting, it was officially announced that Japan will be the Partner Country for the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival. Renowned Japanese musicians are also slated to perform, adding a global touch to the festival. Both sides expressed optimism that this partnership would strengthen the long-standing relationship between Nagaland and Japan, contributing to closer cooperation between the two nations.
Chief Minister Rio extended his appreciation for Toyota’s involvement in the festival, in collaboration with the Task Force for Music & Arts (TAFMA). He highlighted the significance of such collaborations in promoting cultural and artistic exchanges.
The state government had earlier announced that the United Kingdom, represented by Wales, would also be a Partner Country for the upcoming Hornbill Festival.
