Nagaland Univ professor awarded for waste management efforts

Guwahati: Professor Ashutosh Tripathi, Head of the Department of Environmental Science at Nagaland University, has been awarded the Senior Scientist 2024 Award for his significant contributions to the field of Solid Waste Management.

The Environment Science and Development Association (ESDA) presented the prestigious award at the 5th World Environment Summit on November 16-18 at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi.

Justice Sudhir Agrawal, Retired Judge and Member of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), bestowed the honor upon Professor Tripathi in the presence of prominent environmentalists, including Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi.

Professor Tripathi is an expert in various environmental management areas, specializing in wastewater treatment, air pollution treatment, bioremediation, and solid waste management. His research interests also encompass the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly regarding environmental sustainability and resource management, according to a press release by NU PRO Peter Ki.
