Dimapur: Nagaland’s Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, and government spokesperson, Temjen Imna Along, addressed growing public outrage over the sexual molestation allegations against Robert Kikon, former Senior Pastor of Father’s House Church, Chümoukedima. His comments were made on the sidelines of the “Purvottar Aadi Bazar” event at Super Market, Dimapur.

The allegations against Kikon, involving minors, have shocked the state, sparking calls for swift legal action. A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged by Father’s House Church at Chümoukedima Police Station on October 5, but Kikon has yet to be arrested, prompting public frustration.

When asked about the delay in arresting Kikon, Minister Along explained, “For any issue, it takes time. The government doesn’t act immediately just because something has happened. Justice has to be delivered properly, and I’m sure the police and the home department are aware. The government of Nagaland will ensure justice is served according to the law.”

Despite mounting pressure for immediate action, Minister Along emphasized the importance of following due process. “We cannot act in anger or take the law into our own hands. While the crime is condemnable, it’s essential that the right procedures are followed to ensure justice,” he added.

The case has intensified demands for action, with several groups calling for the protection of victims and accountability for the alleged crimes.
