Kohima: The Assam Rifles recently intercepted a vehicle near the fourth mile of Nuiland-Dimapur road in Nagaland and recovered suspected heroin worth Rs 7.96 crore.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding drug movement, the operation was launched on July 10.
During a thorough search at the Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP), security personnel uncovered 1,134 grams of suspected Heroin No 4 concealed in 81 plastic soap cases.
The contraband, estimated to be worth approximately Rs. 7.94 crore, was meticulously hidden to evade detection.

Three individuals were apprehended on-site in connection with the smuggling activities.
Alongside the narcotics, arms, ammunition, magazines, and stores recovered during the operation were handed over to the Nagaland Police for further investigation.
